Behold Britelord Henley of Maynetree PP, M, MCO ns 25, 08/10/18, imp US
I love this cat so much, he is the very first cat that I chose from birth and I have a very strong emotional attachment to him.
Henley arrived here from the US on 20th January 2020.
Whilst not as "typey" as some other very strong males, has excellent silver & ticked colouring, and polydactyl within his lines.
I'll be honest, his profile is not nearly as convex/concave on the forehead/nose as it should be. His ear-set is ever so slightly too low. He was the best cat that was available to me, with my knowledge at the time of choosing. In hindsight, I would have chosen differently, however, this is all part of the journey and he is still a wonderful cat, there is no doubt about that.
His temperament is outstanding, and this to me more than makes up for his lack of type. He is smoochy, talkative, affectionate, delightfully clumsy, and an all-round joy.
Additionally, he is big-boned, well-proportioned, and his genetic profile is excellent.
Henley is heterozygous for:
- Non-agouti A/a (carries one copy of the recessive solid colour gene)
- Inhibitor I/i (carries silver appearance)
- Dilute D/d (carries one copy of the recessive dilution gene which causes blue & cream colouring).
The ticking in his coat is dominant over mackerel or classic tabby patterns.
In saying all of the above, we will see kittens with both solid colour and tabby patterns, blues & creams (dilute), and silver (depending on the girl who is put to him).
Approx 50% of his kittens will be polydactyl.
I include this information as both a personal record and to remain transparent within my breeding program.
